Motor mount design with screw belt tensioner

Hi guys!
I would like to share with you my design of motor mounts.
The main goals were:

  1. Easy to replace wheel (easy to lose belt and change the gears)
  2. Belt tensioner by the screw to prevent wrong belt tension
  3. Compatible with 50mm and 63mm motors
  4. Wide range of belt lenght use
  5. Possibility of mounting two 55mm long motors on one truck
  6. Space (extra holes) to mount belt cover or crossbar

Check the pictures below. It is compatible with caliber II trucks. What do you think about this? It is early prototype, need to design belt cover and minimal motor mount design improvement.

Looks interesting. What is the clamping mechanism?

It it is design with two parts, one is screw to the mount plate and second squeeze the truck, by the two m5 screw. It is made with tight fit.

So you’re saying there’s supposed to be a screw here that you turn to apply tension with?

If so that’s how the trampa OBD work and Haggy mounts work. It’s a great system, definitely makes tensioning easier than a normal sliding motor mount.

You may want to deduce some thickness if the mounts cant support 15mm pulleys/belts tho very few people run smaller

It looks to me like it’s just standard sliding tensioning like torqueboards ones but I could be wrong. I like how Hoyt or trampa or the others do it too like you were mentioning.

Will this fit Boardnamics truck hangers?

This looks awesome.

I feel like splitting the clamp on the diagonal produces a tighter fit and a more solid mount. Maybe consider that.

Please check the video how it’s work. The screw to tension the belt is need only when you doing tensioning. For normal use you can unscrew it.
The belt width is defined by type and number of motors. For 2x55mm motors in one truck the belt must be 9mm width (there is no enought space in normal caliber truck hanger), however if you use one bigger motor you can go with 15mm or even 20mm width belt.

Looks great be nice black anodized, are you selling them ?
Maby the 4 fixing need to be in a slot like dickios? So the bolt clamps better.
Best motor mounts I’ve seen.
Put me down for a black set.

Ah okay I see so it’s basically just to set the tension more easily. Neat

Yeah, if you’re trying to sell this mount that’s just not viable. 15mm belts are the way.
Otherwise it looks like a really solid design overall.

Yes I plan to anodize it (don’t decided of the colour yet ). Probably I will make it for sale in the future, for now need to test it on the road.

I mean even 12 is okay. 15 is optimal but I’ve always run 12’s. 9mm is tiny

Thanks man, I’m need to check dimension of the Boardnamics hanger. It’s is a copy of caliber truck, but longer? I never had it in my hand.
I need to think about the diagonal clamp, but I’m not sure it’s better option
