Molicel INR-21700 M65a

@Battery_Mooch This seems exciting. Have you been able to get a hold of these yet? (Not sure if released)

Do we know much about the fire at the Molicel factory?

Damn, I want some, but as a cheapskate, I don’t think they’ll be in my price range for a long time.

Maybe sooner than you think, the P45Bs were a pipe dream for the layman not that long ago and now we’re plessed with semi-reasonable priced BAK45Ds.

The M65A will take probably around a Year before we see them on the market in my opinion.

It would be amazing to see a 6000mah tabless cell with high output on par with the EVE 40PL.

Saw a dude with a 14s10p e-bike running stupid nunbers on those batteries

Molicel has a 85 version (Assuming over 8ah) on their road map with a 21700 cell.

It may take even longer, since they recently had a fire in their factory. We deeply regret to inform our partners and the public of a fire incident that occurred in the early morning of July 14 at our MQE manufacturing facility in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. | E-One Moli Energy

Ouch.

This is clearly evidence that Molicels are a fire hazard.

18650BStoredotcom raised their P45b’s from $4.99 to $6.99, and the $6.50 P50B was out of stock in hours.

TAKE MY MONEY!

but, you know, not all of it.

Probably with the fears after the Molicel factory fire. Not sure. I am not selling Molicel currently.

Next year, at least, for samples of the M65A and who-knows-when for general availability. In my opinion. :slightly_smiling_face:

It is interesting that a future high capacity energy cell is spec’d with high enough CDR that they can be considered for use in a Power cell application.

Seems like a lot of EBike batteries use energy cells… Because they have less powerful needs, or enough in parallel to not approach their CDR, and friction brakes in addition to regen?

I’m only running a 2p configuration with a 24amp ESC which specs a 30 amp or higher battery. My first battery used 15amp CDR to 60C cells. Lots of sag and they got HOT, especially more so as they aged.

Am now using Bak45D, so 120amp limited to 80C CDR.

Often rolling at full throttle, It is so easy to notice how much less voltage Sag there is, considerably more torque for longer, and the battery stays 18 to 22C cooler.

I’m more interested in Power cells, than Energy cells, even if an energy cell can meet my requirements, on Paper.

I am more excited for the future Molicel’s P60B, P50S, and their tabless offerings.
