No direct FETs either. Unity is actually a very basic V4.12 based design with a single processor to drive two power stages. Since it uses a single processor instead of two processors it needs a special Firmware. In VESC-Tool it pops up as a UNITY. So don’t flash any other FW than UNITY FW.

Thanks that clears thing up.

I have never downloaded anything from a vesc site except the vesc tool itself. The firmware is always dld through the tool

Im sorry to hear about your esc

For fun today I flashed 6.0.2 UNITY f/w onto a NOS Unity.

Initially over USB it claimed it was 5.0.3 & that 5.0.3 is the update. So to make thing interesting connected a VESC Express™©® connected over CAN, connected my phone app over BLE then registered a server on veschub.vedder.se & finally desktop tool to the server as a client.

While I was only a couple of ft away I guess it could conceivably handle a remote connection for some reason - remote Frank assistance?

Anyway I digress, upload then commenced of firmware et voila, we have 6.0.2, it was fast too.

Ok going to smoke me some FOCbox
