So I bought a MEEPO MLR 16S 3P to install Moe’s upgrade kit, which allows the use of go-kart wheels.
I started using the MEEPO MLR in its original state. A good board, but it didn’t offer any added value compared to my Superspine and Mach One.
In fact, I found that the MEEPO 3-link trucks didn’t provide as refined a ride as those on my Superspine. It’s hard to say if this is due to the bushings, which are thinner on the MEEPO trucks, or to the adjustments made by Moe, who requires the height and weight before setting them.
Installing Moe’s kit presented no major difficulties.
I only had to use longer screws than the original ones for the front truck, recut the rear cable protection plate so it would fit, and shorten the ESC power and charging cables to get them under the plate.
I also protected the motor cables because the braid was starting to split from rubbing against the ESC box.
The new CST trucks are absolutely incredible and inspire a lot of confidence. They surpass the Meepo 3-links. The thumb control on the remote seemed easier to get used to than with the smaller wheels. With go-kart wheels, it’s like flying above the road.
I used the same wheels on a Trampa board with 4x Reacher 6484s and Trampa IR trucks, and it was awful.
A board this heavy with such big wheels that feels so light to handle: it’s magic. The board weighs a total of 28.3 kg. The autonomy seems quite long with the 16S3P battery. However, I cannot quantify it.
Completely unexpectedly, this board has become an everyday board like the Mach One. I use it without bindings without difficulty.
The price of the kit is around $800 without the wheels (and without the MLR of course).
