Meepo Mini 2, Focbox Unity+, 3DF Hub Conversion, AT Mini Board

I have everything connected together, but I think I’m not getting some settings right on VESC tool. I did my best to follow Mboards video tutorial on setting up my Focbox, but my board is unable to go with weight on it. It is able to go with no weight, but the throttle is too sensitive. Help!

Is it the stock meepo battery?

That conversion kit isn’t the greatest to be honest. It DESTROYS your torque. My cousin had a meepo v3 and did that for his and he couldn’t make it up some hills. Also only got like 6 miles of range.

But don’t know if the problem is lack of torque :man_shrugging:t3:

It’s the ER battery, I forgot to mention. That’s why I figured if I get a better ESC it would get some of that torque back. @Taraskasyanyuk

Possibly, I did hear it’s a little better with a non meepo esc.

It just sounds like standard unsensored behaviour. Once it’s rolling with a rider, how does it act?

Had similar problem except for the AT wheel part. Resolved by not changing all the amps values (except the batt current and regen) after the motor detection. Even so, the low rpm torque is still far too low compared to the low rpm torque of a lingyi.

It acts pretty okay, at high speed. M and L barely works

Did You make sure that the sensors have the correct pin layout to fit your Unity? I had to switch some pins to get my meepo sensors to work.

The words on the connector are what color the wire has to be from your hub sensors.

@OP

Don’t cut and resolder the wires.

Just unplug the pins from the jst by lifting the tab and click them back in the right slot

Have you tried upping the startup boost? Helped me when running sensorless bldc motors.

I see no issue here other than it feeling under-powered. There’s most likely nothing wrong with that unity, your setup, and your pins. Pretty sure it would work great with belt drives. It’s just that vesc simply sux at driving skateboard hub motors.

I’ve followed this diagram, skipping the temp wire.
I’ve had to redo 2 of the connectors for they came out of the metal piece as I was pulling it out of the original 5pin connector.

How do you do that James? Or where’s that setting?

Motor cfg-bldc-general - startup boost. It really helped mine. Might be worth a try. I think I’ve got mine set to 0.070.

I don’t know where u get that idea.

I think u are not setting things up correctly.

Nothing can beat vesc atm.

from actual personal experience.

So what’s the correct settings? We all wanna know.

Ya see vesc is no doubt the best controller out there. Its “current mode” is great for belt drives which uses higher kv motors. These low kv hubs should be run in either “duty cycle mode” or “PID mode” for better low rpm torque but they come with their own cans of worms.

I see what you mean.

But with proper sensors. I am pleased enough with the performance compared to any other china esc.

Maybe my standards are lower then yours. I only used hobbywing/lingyi before. So that’s my only comparison.
