Out of curiosity, can gear ratios be changed in the Newbee gear system? What size wheels are the Newbee and Meepo systems optimized for?
To my knowledge you can’t change the Newbee 4GS gearing. In fact the two different versions of the gearing (5.0 and 3.45) have different size casings. I’m not sure if there is any optimal wheel size. It totally depends what you want in terms of torque, top speed, etc. and what motor you’re pairing it with. I can say I was running my Newbee 5.0 drive on 9-inch and just changed to 10-inch recently and it’s all great in both cases (and similar to the 5.14 belt drive I was using previously).
the housing is different are each ratio on the newbee, i can’t say if the lower ratio can fit into the higher ratio housing or not, but the higher ratio definitely can’t fit into the lower ratio housing
8 or 9 inch for newbee 5.0 ratio, not sure about the lower ratio one. meepo gear drive is mainly for 6.5 or 7 inch
Yeah it says something that they don’t even publish that. I also had to inquire with Acedeck as I was curious about the ratio on their new board with gear drive and it’s never stated anywhere (it’s 4.0)
