MBS Matrix 3 on Flat Deck

Hey Everyone, I’ve recently wanting to build a top speed board. I found a crazy deal on a forged carbon flat deck but also want to use the MBS matrix 3 and was curious what the real professionals have to say about that I know you want at least a 35degree up front and slightly less than that in the back but how would a +5 up front and 0 in the back feel. Please let me know if anyone has ever done this with similar bushings. Thanks in advance.

If you want to run channel-style trucks on a flat deck, your best best is probably going to be Tito Systems duality trucks.

You may be able to turn a 180 in a few hundred feet with that setup, but it won’t work well at all. You can buy big wedges for running mountain board trucks on flat decks, but I wouldn’t want to do that for something intended for high speed unless the deck has massive drops. It may work, but channel trucks seem to work best with the height of the standing platform pretty close to the height of the pivot point of the trucks. I wouldn’t try channel trucks with less than 20 degrees in the front, and you’ll probably want a fair bit more than that.

Not sure if these fit the matrix 3s.

Took a look at those I unfortunately believe they do not fit.

Honestly, you kinda gotta choose one or the other to have a board that functions more than just straight line travel. Matrix 3 or flat deck. I believe the better choice would be a flat deck with either Duality trucks or 3-link.

You need angles for matrix III dude.

If you have to use the flat deck brackets may be in your future…

im currently building an omakase with matrix 3s. stacking 2 15 degree mbs angle risers to hit 30 degrees front and back. back will have a ttx wheelie bar with skiffs as a flat riser and an mbs 1/4” flat riser and 2 loaded shock pads. front will have 3 1/4” mbs flat risers and the mbs matrix 3 rubber riser. itll run rock star 2 and t1. it should work. push/husky power

i looked for a bunch of riser options and mostly found over priced cheaply made stuff or stuff that someone cncd 5 years ago in europe and i would be unlikely to get. and that would have still been pricey. pats did have a nice cheap 15 degree plastic riser that i put on an icarus, but the mbs 15s are aluminum and bolt to the top plate which means i can use shorter screws through the deck and they dont have to bend. also the entire truck assembly will be rigid. each matrix 3 with the 2 risers is looking like a bit over 1kg. board should sit somewhere around 15 to 16 lbs

What inspired such a unique combination?

I do think diy is 90 % putting stuff that doesn’t go together together…

But you are going over and above :slightly_smiling_face:.

If you are going to chase this look at the Singularitys too …

Very odd combo. Looking forward to seeing it

Damn, those are stout! 2 different angles in the kit?

No, same angle

Made 10 kits in the past and they worked really good
