I havent used the FlipSky version of @gamer43’s switch. I have one of the small batch that he hand made, its got soooooo many miles on it in a very short time, literally 100’s, with no issues. I am waiting until he does a group buy on the FlipSky version, then I’ll get a couple. I’d rather see my homie make some money than not.

I don’t believe the maker x switch has a pre-charge circuit so it will probably fail at some point but I also don’t believe there have been any reports of the switch failing on someone.

The real issue is that we don’t have any reasonable testing protocols in place. “Abuse it until it breaks” is hardly a proper method and especially when the gear is designed for lower-end builds.

The vendor’s hyperbole doesn’t help in this instance, though.

Has anyone even tested it with the RATED 80a batt max?

I am actually working on this, but bench/lab testing is not the same as real world testing so getting the theory right is what im stuck on. The actual testing/load scenario is easy enough.

I would love to see this become a thread here. Added to the master content list. Looking forward to seeing any progress.

I’m curious is as how many of these are actually out in the wild-

  • I have one currently being used in a build.
  • I have one waiting to be put in a build.

We’ve got community members who know how to stress and valuate a product like this though, Damon would be perfect for that. This chap needs to pony up and send one FOC to Damon so that he can find out where it’s limits are. Until then it’s an unknown.

The majority of death comes from changing the bulk caps on turn-on too fast, right? This should be possible to observe with an oscilloscope?

@YUTW123, any known cases of failure with this ESC? Under what condition?

do these come with any connectors? (xt90, 5.5mm bullets, etc)
The pics don’t show any, but I just want to make sure

My Dual V4 came with 4.0mm bullets and xt60 plugs. You do have to solder them yourself though.

Please, just stop. Seriously, just stop. Please post proof to everyone here that you’ve tried to get in touch with me and how I’ve been difficult to get in touch with. You are a snake on this forum. Don’t make me open a Paypal dispute because you’re begging for it right now.

@YUTW123 you might wanna clear up this situation before continuing to try to promote your product

He’s just going to come out with a ‘new version’ that magically ‘fixes’ it. Isn’t this the same ESC that was being spammed and promoted that it was available for purchase? Even immediately after hw revisions?

These have always seemed odd to me

What is the average shipping time to California?

I tried but its hard to get right without the correct equipment. I think you could build a good test setup and automate testing different paramiters but you would need a few huge motors and a huge vesc to run the tests. Also a fairly specialist power supply.
