loss of remote communication

Hello when I lose the communication between the transmitter of my remote control and the receiver on the controller, my motors start to run thoroughly! What should I do on VESC Tool to prevent my motors from running?
thanks

by default, vesctool does not accelerate or brake if receiver disconnect (assuming u set it up correctly), its ur receiver keep sending last known value while the remote disconnect which caused this issue.

what remote u using? time to get a better one

Your remote is sending a non-center value on disconnect

As others said, this is likely a remote-side setting as VESC naturally has a timeout feature and stops the throttle once it no longer receives an input signal.

Which remote are you using? Some older RC style remote/receiver have a “failsafe feature” which allows the user to set a default signal that is sent if it loses connection with the remote. This is likely what you’re running into.

Big fan of your work btw!

What remote? If you don’t know the name, post a photo of it.

Oh yeah the Maytech remotes are notorious for this stuff. Its the remote/receiver, not your ESC. Buying something better is your best bet

buy this one:

That remote shouldn’t be an issue. Did you set your center point and mapping correctly? Also check for debris or loose connections with the receiver.
