sorry to hear, I’ve seen this happen a few times. Generally happens with dud units.

Whack, I’ve never seen This happen before. Is it possible the voltage precision was set too low and passive balancing was activated?

Unfortunately your battery wasn’t the only battery that died while it sat. @DEEIF supersport battery died too because of vici wiring it wrong. Smart bms drain is funky, always unplug bms if you are going to let it sit

Hmmm?

A BMS manufacturer shipping dud units means they are a shitty BMS manufacturer.

I guess there is no good BMS manufacturer.

How do you know they are duds?

i never got to look at it. probably however it was set from the factory. Maybe I can try to set myself up to power it on and see if I can get the settings.

Factory settings wouldn’t have killed it. But yeah let’s see if we can take a peak at them

watch idle drain. if its significant you got a dud

Can they be turned off with the 2 wire plug?

just had my supersport sit for nearly 6 months at 3.8v. cells are fine

I had the bms app connected on a phone I rarely use and that drained a battery pretty quick.

It was a custom battery

This is practically enough to ditch an entire BMS manufacturer.

A BMS is a critical safety device

This should absolutely be part of the manufacturer’s QC process prior to shipping them, and, if not, then they are a terrible BMS manufacturer and in need of replacement.

Brian i’ve seen multiple of any bms fail. This is tinfoil hat logic. QC isnt flawless.

First time I got a dud from Bestech I never bought or used another BMS from them ever again, and no other company is different.

This is like a fire extinguisher that shoots confetti instead of carbon dioxide.

Evan, a BMS is a safety device, and children’s lives can depend on it not being shitty, and being tested prior to shipping, even if that costs an extra $0.10 off their bottom line.
