This topic is meant to gauge interest and gather as many forum members as possible from all over Europe that are interested in buying the highly acclaimed Mboards Nova tires. IMHO There is a huge untapped potential marked in the EU. I am guessing there are a lot of esk8 rider that don’t have access to a good quality esk8 tire options and are sick of unbalanced tires from Aliexpres ect.
I see more and more people on electric skateboards every day in my city of Maribor, Slovenia which is a tiny town of some 150k people in the smallest country you guys have never heard of
I am appealing to Mboard@mikebeard and Bioboards@p3andren to hammer out a deal to send e large-ish quantity of Nova tires to Biobords which could act as a distributor for Europe. I’m pretty sure you two businessmen can come to an lucrative agreement for both parties. Which will make both of you money and make a lot of esk8-ers in Europe happy.
I would be really happy if the supernova wheels were also available in Europe. There are plenty of races here in Europe as well. But the best racing wheels are very expensive to get. The supernova would cost around 400 USD with all kinds of taxes by the time it arrived here. Not to mention the BRP set.
I just read the other thread, glad i did. Noticed more than 1 mention the terrible balancing. So i’m not to sure anymore about my wish to purchase…
If Mboards can guarantee the box heading for Europe to have a decent QC before sending i can imagine buying them (depending on $$).
Right now i’m riding CST’s from FluxMotion. Like @rafaelinmissouri said before ; the CST’s are buttery smooth, I also really love them. I’ts like riding a Caddilac, no noise, no bumping/wobble whatsoever
They are 200mm so not what some of you guys are looking for…
@p3andren
Could you elaborate on how this is working for B2B? I googled today but didnt get quite the answers I wanted. Since I’m in holiday I have to do research on my phone and that sucks…
Is it possible for business to pay less taxes, tariffs (or whatever) than regular consumers? Thank you
Companies have to pay VAT (and tariffs) as well as a private person for importing goods
VAT and tariffs are depending on the price for the items + shipping (+ tarrifs in case of the VAT)
So from my understanding we can only get a better price in group buys by reduced prices for the bulk (which have to be granted by the seller for buying in bulk). And by getting a better price for shipping in bulk over single packages.
My best guess is: if we want to get a better price on Novas we have to convince a european shop to add them to their inventory. They might can get a better price for bulk buying and shipping (maybe by shipping directly from chinese factory without taking an extra route via USA?) so we might end with a price close to what they are sold for in US shops?
Please correct me if I am forgetting something Here. I’m Not familiar with all that stuff at all.
Businesses don’t pay VAT when importing, but they pay it when selling the stuff, as far as I understand it. But I am no expert either, correct me if I am wrong. In practice it would only effect the price a very small amount.
The main opportunity for savings in my opinion could be from slow shipping in bulk (by sea), and potentially also bulk discounts if there’s enough quantity. Shipping directly from the factory would also give significant savings if mboards is willing to do that.
I am not at the point now where I have a board waiting for Novas, but I would appreciate having them reasonably priced with EU stock.
Yep. BRPs would be around 400€, supernovas maybe a little cheaper but probably still like 300 after importing a single set. Manufacturing at relatively small scales and no local distribution makes them expensive.
This is the reason why I switched to karting slicks for racing - the most expensive set of fronts is still only about 200€, and they have seen a lot of R&D budget, more than esk8 specific tires probably ever will. The set that I did the T-race world record lap on is from 2019 or 2020, and racing tires do age and degrade even just standing. I got that at a huge sale at 8€ per tire and it has about 30 track sessions in it already… Rears are quite worn but still perform, fronts still have a fair amount of life. A freshly manufactured set should yield further improvements, but I have another set of the same tires that I want to go through first which will be mounted soon, before I buy a fresh set.
