Led light channels to extend life on led strips

Has any one tried these flexible LED strip light channels? I went through two sets of strips due to road shrapnel last summer and I’m trying to find a better way.

You can buy them with it, search IP67 or IP68 when you look for the LEDs. It’s definitely helpful for lifespan, since the PCB isn’t stuck directly to the surface of a deck it doesn’t crack as fast and the tube is far more resilient to water and dirt than the extruded half round. The catch is its a bitch to mount and is more susceptible to pointy things or getting crushed

Wouldn’t you just mount it with 3m vhb tape? Last summer I lost one strip in a month so I used vhb to keep it on and “top coated” it with clear gorilla tape. That lasted 3 months :rofl:

I was using the roll of shitty double sided tape they sometimes come with, I don’t recommend it…ended up with a lot of duct tape and hot glue

Come to think of it I probably should have cleaned them before adding more tape and glue…

@Fosterqc

This is the link to the strips Im intending on using, colored and they have a 12mm wide option, Ive mostly seen these things at 6mm wide and 12mm tall so wasn’t ideal for my purpose, I needed 10mm to 12mm and these fit that bill.
