Ok , I rode it today . Same route and I got 7.5 miles this time . I have to push a lot more and more jerkiness than my first ride towards the end . This is my 3 ride I got on it . Hope my battery is not deteriorating already LOL .
Maybe riding it harder after first run and sagging the cells?
And extra rear jaykay truck to offset that?
What about 3D printing a small discrete cell holder nestled close to each baseplate feeding into the discharge wiring to create a 2P setup for each truck? Sacrifice a small bit of wonder for practicality
Was riding fairly hard with hard take off and braking and lots of hills. I’m fairly impressed I think? This is the worst case scenario number. I’m pretty sure I can get double this if I just cruise
Huh so not as bad as we think. 1hr 8 minutes for 4.3 miles though
Most have been slow on the hills
Well I stopped for donuts for almost an hour
Actually hill performance is surprising considering it’s an iron-less motor. Also it’s 4s1p 40T. Freewheeling is insane. No clogging at all. I love it
Ah there we go
Each truck
How’s the remote signal and responsiveness?
This is impressive.
So, tell us about the remote. Is it smooth? Is the throw long enough? Is it easy to control, or jerky? Does it center well? Does it have a center detent? Is it easy to accidentally bump it before/after riding the board? Does the ring battery last sufficiently long? Does it appear high-quality?
Are the trucks hot after a ride? Like, if you touched them while handling the board, will you get burned?
If one truck dies, does it work normally with only one powered truck?
Can you start either direction, or is it directional?
Jeeze lol, I’m working on my full review maybe you should give it a read when I’m done with it
Yeah I’ve had no issues with it. Power curve is totally smooth. It’s tiny and ring formed and there’s a display on it. I barely put a dent in the remote battery when i did my range test so it should last a long time.
Trucks are hot after riding. I’m sorta concerned the cells are cooking in there afterwards but idk. It’s bidirectional, whichever way you push off is forward. Each truck can be run independently. Motors are unsensored.
Each trucks charges via type c pd. remote is also type c. whole kit comes with a charger that has two type c pd outputs and a type a output for the remote for which they provide an a to c cable. the charging cables for the trucks are magnetic breakaway cables too. very slick
Man, I have to eat a huge bowl of shit on this one. I laughed at Jaykay, thought it was either vapourware or unworkable, and now here they are as promised.
Now where is that spoon?
I was almost sure Jaykay was going to be vaporware. I am totally shocked, and in a good way, because I think these look cool as shit. Really makes me want to buy a set.
Yeah I saw the way y’all were going at the jaykay guy when he was on here a while ago to talk about this stuff… was sorta rough ngl IMO their motor tech and esc tech is quite a bit on the bleeding edge side of eskate trends and it’s certainly really cool to see
Good on you that you’re willing to eat your words @BillGordon if you need a spoon or something else I can send you one
Please give us more real world performances to this, and build quality + pics? Close up pics too? I can picture this on a shortboard and i’d use it as a daily commuter.
personally I would want to see the possibility of modding it with a bigger battery if performance is decent, but it would ruin the stealth element
Yup, looks like you just have to accept it for what it is.
