Introducting, The BOOSTED APEX!

Ok, its not really a Boosted but its what Boosted wish it could be. Meet, THE APEX!

This board is superior to many production boards in this category. But i will admit, the Backfire Zealot X 14s battery pack comes pretty damn close to the Apex 12s and vesc esc. However, the Apex may actually have the edge on power and acceleration, considering that the Zealot X uses the smaller 96mm wheels and a gear ratio 2.6, to the Apex 110mm wheels and GR 2.4. Also we pushed 65 motor amps through each motor and 60 battery amps. The Apex also has the edge on range, quality, reliability, and durability.

We adjust the settings again and pushing 65 motor amps and 60 battery amps. Alone with other things. Now its zippy af! Its superior to the backfire zealot x.

Now if i did want it to have more power, i could just simply go 12s3p with p42a molicels instead of 50s cells, but the goal of this build was distance and comfort.

The Hoyt whysir trucks were awesome, but it doesn’t seem to be built for other motors than what hoyt originally had. Think they were the KND motors? So we had to dremel a very small part of the motor mounts off to fit the flipsky motors on. Also the axles weren’t big enough for the wheels with push in wheel pulleys. Looks like the axles were meant to use the wheel pulley hoyt had where the gear mounts on one side of the wheels, and goes through the wheels to the other side where its secured on the outside of the wheel. (Hard to explain, hopefully y’all know what I’m talking about.)

Was thinking of adding a heatsink plate to the vesc but i took this board to Little Rock and there were some mean hills there. 400 ft high with 20° slopes. We were going up and down them at full throttle. The board did great. No cut outs or or sagging. I could feel the vesc get hot through the enclosure but being in flat lands of Texas, a heatsink doesn’t seem necessary.

Thanks! So far i love them as alternatives to regular thanes. I feel the shock absorption is better than the og cloudwheels and certainly much better grip!

Thanks! Ya dude, they’re look so cool. But it always annoyed me to have motors under the deck like that without any protection. Especially when i go off the pavement and the motors catch the edge of the pavement. These definitely give me more peace of mind!

Ok. After consulting @hoytkid , we adjusted the settings to 65 motor amps and 60 battery amps along with some other things. Now this thing is fire! :fire::fire::fire:
