Introducing the BKB Xenith

this will become common im sure especially once the thief knows how much value we are putting into our zoom zoom

is the board conformal coated already?

Caps definitely are, not sure about the rest of the PCB though

Yes, the PCB is conformal coated

I really don’t think esk8 will ever be a prime target for thieves, between the absolute niche market we reside in where resale is either fantastic or worse than nothing and the sheer scale of community makes it pretty difficult to show up to a group ride, steal a board, sell board on Craigslist etc. If I was going to steal shit, not that I would, I would steal 100 different things before I considered stealing a board.

What’s the max output current for the 5v pins? I’m trying to power some LEDs

true but if a guy sees you plodding along on a board he assumes eboard = boosted = 1k so he will just nick it

150 mA. It’s got a 300 mA fuse on it.

I might not be ideal with shipping but @ApexBoards have some in stock and available

I just checked and it was $350 shipped to
The states. You weren’t lying about the shipping cost

Yeah, the USD has taken a bit of a tank recently too which compounds the issue! UPS charge us quite a bit. You should see how much the parcel to Australia went for today…

Has anyone had this issue happen to them, to make things short i have two xeniths that i wanted to use with my revel kit dd motors to make a decent board from but ran into motor detection and hall sensor issues, sensor header pins not being in the proper position to the pin arrangement for the xenith and now my main xenith stopped powering on for some odd reason while i was troubleshooting the motors trying to get them to work.

No smoke, no spark and no weird sound to indicate that something was wrong other then my power switch light and vesc light started to dimly flicker so i tried powering off the xenith that didnt work then i unconnected it from my pc and unplugged the battery from it thinking it might have been my battery causing the issue which wasnt it either,
(Its a 10s4p 20r pack btw) and replugged it to the pack then power switch and nothing wont power on no lights no anything. I emailed @BuildKitBoards about this already waiting on his insight to da problem but wanted to know if anyone else has had a issue like this before.

I also did update my firmware on both xeniths to 5.2 idk if that was the right thing to do or not but for my other xenith that is working fine nothing is wrong with it outside of not being able to change my absolute maximum current which is a problem i believe is tied to my motors and not the firmware.

Edit: Legit right after typing this i check my email and Jared replied to me i knew he is a busy lad so i wasnt stressing over a reply cause he always helps out anything any issues ive had before.

I would guess that the revel motors have a non-standard pinout for the sensor wires.

You’ll have to do a little work to figure out what wires go where. I seem to recall the sensor wires on Revel DD having colors, right?

Black probably ground, red probably positive 5v, white is temperature, then the other three are the hall sensors, which should theoretically be allowed to be in any order.

If you match these designations up to the Xenith pinout, they may work. As for the actual issue of it not powering on, not sure about that.

yea i got it setup like that but the sensors still arent detected idk i followed the sensor diagram for the xenith to make sure it worked after i swapped the jst pin header.

only thing i can think is maybe the pins arent touching the crimps on the sensor wires

@ShutterShock Nope still no luck welp rip being able to actually use these 1100 watt motors at full power and not at 504 watts. Kinda had a feeling i was gonna have to replace these motors once they failed detection the 1st time. Tried running them sensorless as well that didnt work the motors would spin but instantly go top speed after i past dead zone on my throttle settings and cogs still even after kick pushing. Sad cause these dd even though they was underpowered on the revel kit they was troopers, durable and lasted me a long ass time 2k miles to be exact.
