  1. Scooter Barbies who have no clue how to ride them
  2. You can leave them anywhere. They litter the streets.
  3. It brings more attention to pev crashes.

I like them too in my city. No idea why people hate them so much, the benefits massively outweigh the drawbacks.

@Nacho Keep buying everything up so you can sell it to me later :yum:
I request a RE44 Jimmy special

Yeah the place I was at had three companies who all had different terms. One has designated park zones, one had a requirement to take a picture of where you left it as proof you’re not being a dick, they all had no-park zones and they were mostly sensible.

Barbies and media attention is fair though, Norway had just implemented a 22kmh speed limit on them after a crash when I was there

same, but 20km/h right from the start

Also they are all registered road vehicles with insurance included here in germany.

A bunch of the college kids I ride around with will push the scooters over while we ride by them. I don’t get the outward hate. Sure people ride them around more and act like idiots but I’m on a freaking electric skateboard zipping around as well, not too much room to talk. Cleaner air, less traffic, and more pev awareness all outweigh the idiots for me. Plus I eat them in alive in races.

The problem is that they all ride like idiots, do not wear helmets, and have generally much less care about what they do with the vehicle since they don’t own it

This ends up with people stacked two deep on a scooter riding 15 mph in traffic, without helmets. Furthermore, if they go on the sidewalk they exist to cut people off

There are at least 4 scooter providers in downtown SD and the city created parking zones for them

I cannot waaaait until someone rolls up to me on a 300W xiaomi against the 2x6384s and a lipo that’s just pissed off it’s not in a plane

I really haven’t seen many of those, but could be different over here.

Dude idk the people riding them here ride them like they own the entire road while also paying zero attention to what’s going on

Well technically any road vehicle has the right to use a reasonable piece of road for itself. And I kinda also get the people that drive their scooters in the middle of the lane, because if you keep to the right you get cars that make a it a challenge for themselfes to pass you as close and fast as humanly possible.

Then again, I also get why car drivers are annoyed because some 20km/h shithead is blocking an entire lane while only needing like 50cm. Still, I’m on the scooter/bike/board side, fuck cars.

Absofuckinlutely. I had to un-learn how to cycle “safely” when I started going in a city. Passive or non-assertive riding sends the signal that you’re just an inconvenience to be overtaken and gets you in so much more dangerous situations than having a clear and stable road position in your spot in the lane.

Still though, maybe you meant swerving all over the place? Like that’s unsafe, but so many drivers have the attitude that non-cars are just being a pain because they think the road belongs only to cars

Yeah swerving between lanes, being stupid drivers

Boards can do it too I’ve seen plenty of NYC eboard riders lol

Paging @jack.luis there is a thread about cars being dicks, and I am shocked that you are not in it :joy:

Yeah this. Its like car drivers think that they own the road alone and everyone else is just a tolerated nuisance.

That’s exactly what I think when I’m driving.

And I think the reverse when I’m riding a board, towards drivers.

Screw other people, I’m most important. The rest of you are just figments of my mind playing out my own personal narrative.

Step aside, side characters.
