Looks like a TKP truck.
I’m not looking to set a new Speed record haha just a bit more stability compared to the original SYL 08 Trucks
Would a pair of DKP Trucks work (I like carving as well) or should I keep searching for RKP?
TRAMPA IR Double Kingpinned Skate Style Trucks fit every 19.1mm Motor Mount TRAMPA offers - BLUE how about these? Seem similar to the Apex Air trucks PKP
They are excellente
Might I get away wth using my current motor mount for the 17 Trampa IR? The official mounts are outside my budget unfortunately.
The trucks in the SYL seem to be a knockoff from some Trampa Trucks. The shape towards the end of the hanger seem to have the same rectangular dimensions as the originals.
The motor mount is advertised for only 16 inches. But as you can see on the third picture I have used longer screws and (hex-bolts/screws?) as spacers and some washers on the axles to widen the rear wheels somewhat already.
Adding a couple more milimeters should be no issue.
No.
If you can’t get the mounts, I wouldn’t bother with the trucks.
That’s a shame. Will have to save up for those…
Are Flipskys DKP considered decent? I know DKPs are generally not as suited to higher speeds like RKP/PKP are but maybe still an upgrade to what I have now + good carving fun.
You have tipped angles on your deck, these flipsky trucks need flat deck angles to work.
I recommend not upgrading low-tier parts with other low-tier parts.
Save up for the good stuff and you can carry it over to a new build in the future instead of throwing it away. It’s cheaper in the long run.
Ok makes sense. One more question: how can you tell whether a product is of high quality or not?
Is it anecdotal experiences?
The overall product line a brand offers?
As a beginner in this field, all I rely on is product pictures, the apparent thickness of hardware and keywords like CNC’d vs cast iron, TKP vs RKP etc.
