That riser material looks REaally soft to me. I still have a hard time getting around it doing that to the bolts but I guess with enough wiggling around and stuff. I feel like you have to see how said user rides to get any idea of realistic expectations for how much the trucks could move around
Keep in mind that these are really hard things to mentally grasp when you factor in fatigue wear on components over the many thousands of miles in a boards lifespan. I have seen some REALLY strange stress failures from vibration over the years.
Also the scale/power of the board in question is going to play a big role here. Big carvers with high torque gear drives on 8" pneumatic wheels, with big fat yeti’s standing on them gunning the throttle and carving around at 20-30+mph, for example.
There are a lot of forces at play on these boards as they scale in size, weight, & power. Baseplate Rigidity is akin to kingpin rigidity in regards to critical priority of component constraints. These joints have to be rigid, you cannot have compliance there because that compliance in the joint will eventually walk its way to failure.
I stole it square and fair. Told the guy is was beyond repair and that it caught fire and went into the lake for safety. Its not like he’s going to see it here and complain about it. That would involve complicated computer systems.
ok here’s the plan. I’m going to rebuild this guys board after telling him it was destroyed and i stole it, then i’m going to have an elaborate multilayer chrome and tint finished sword board cut out on my xcarve with flaming penises on the blade to replace the whatver this kill shot thing is and then maytech it up.
minor rewiring. It runs, but there’s a lot of weird shit here. Rebuilt the battery to add fishpaper in key places, rewired the PWM signals, will probably swap out the 12mm pulleys for 15mm pulleys because for some reason there are 15mm belts on 12mm motor pulleys that have had their flanges removed, i blew a motor controller so i had to order 20 more from maytech because Jollin has me by the balls …
other than that its great.
To be fair, i cannot confirm how it shipped to the customer vs how it shipped to me.
