I built my own hyper flexible bamboo deck.

I’ve been at this for 3 or 4 years now and it’s taken quite a few different prototypes to get it right. It’s a bamboo fibreglass deck that flexes a lot but primarily near the trucks where the deck narrows down. This creates a dynamic kingpin angle and makes the board behave in a very unique way.

This vid is just a teaser on the bench but I’ll try and get a vid up showing the flex over the next few days.

This is pretty cool, what do you use to bend the veneers?

I’ve been making these for years but they were far too flexible once I added the heavy esk8 bits to them so I had to stiffen the design a bit for electric.

Here’s another prototype I made but this one used 4 plies of 3mm bamboo with no fibreglass, it was too rigid for my liking

I use a lot of different timber veneers on my boards as bamboo looks quite boring. Bamboo is there for the beautiful unbreakable flex.
Here’s some of the veneers I use on the snowboards

Hey man. I’ve been selling the regular non electric version for years now, the electric version is a beefed up version as the original would bottom out after adding the extra weight of the battery. But if you see the clip I just posted the electric version can take my 100kg dad bod bouncing on it without bottoming out.

You need an extremely flexible battery but that’s not too difficult to fabricate. I used this enclosure

If anyone is interested I can definitely make a few up for sale.

Where can one buy these amazing looking snowboards?

And do they have a metal edge?

They certainly do have metal edges :joy:
If you’re interested in a snowboard the best way to see it all and place an order is via the Instagram page Ben posted above, if you don’t have insta just send me a message on here
