I just built together my board, and whenever i spin the motor assembly, the belt slips toward the mount and is touching the mount. How can i prevent this?
Either move the motor pulley up towards the wheel a bit more, or if youâre using any spacers on the hanger axle, remove them so the wheel pulley sits closer to the mount. IDK if youâre using any spacers so the primary should be your first step.
I put in spacers. Theres the problem, thanks
Make sure the wheel and motor pulleys are as aligned as possible.
+1 for alignment.
The belt is looking for the shortest distance between the two pulleys
You can use shims between the motor and mount to get it aligned perfectly with the hanger axle and prevent the belt from âwalkingâ.
Really thin washers made from something like an aluminum soda can should work.
I did use a shim
There needs to be a single speed washer between the pulley bearing and truck.
If it is still doing that, move the motor pulley outwards on the shaft and ensure that is is secured with loctite (set screws are fully tightened)
Ok i fixed it, my motor pulleys were on backwards. Now theres a rubbing sound on the drivetrain. Lol. This never happened with my old builds https://streamable.com/9kz4e
Pissing me off that i cant get this right
Doesnât sound that bad to me lol
Yup yup itâs the belt tension, I can see it deflect a little on the left side which is good, left has no deflection and is too tight
Got it thanks
Im done with the drivetrain but my electric drill only supports up to 3/8th bit, gotta head down to home depot
Why you need a bit?
I think becasue this round of enclosures were not drilled for power button and or battery meter.
Bummerđ„
This should do the trick

Says itâs in stock at your store
If they have any cheap step drill bits it will be better (that go to 5/8)
