Get a vx1. It’s cheap, shows you the battery level and flashes the antenna led when it’s not connected. Just make sure it’s a very recent batch with no pairing issues.
Or just get a much brighter temporary switch that you can distinguish at least in shadow on a sunny day

If I’ve already connected the Metr Pro how do i integrate the vx1’s receiver?

That’s a lot more messy than adding a piezo disc on the ADC port. Considering the crazy low cost of the discs, it’s the much preferred option.

Can you provide a simple connection diagram please?
