How to connect Focbox Unity 1.1 to VESC tool?

Hi!

I recently bought a used Lacroix Nazare which came with the Focbox Unity (this board is from pre Stormcore era). Every time I connect to any type of VESC tool, (official or third party) I get the same error message:

What should I do?

use the unity app instead if u don’t plan to upgrade the fw

if u want to upgrade the fw, grab a usb cable, stick it in and force flash the latest fw on vesctool

What fw would that be? Thought 23.46 was the newest

for unity’s own fw, yes.

for vecs, latest is fw6.x something i don’t remember, it is the one in the latest vesctool version anyway

I see, and I can flash that to the unity?

choose the unity fw when u select in the fw menu

I see, from the official VESC tool website?

that’s the only place u can get the official vesctool software

Thanks for the help!

I will have to set it up completely from the beginning right?

after u successfully flash in the unity fw, yes, everything need to be setup like new.

also, battery current needs to be divided by 2 if u r used the old unity app, on vesctool, every setting is “per side”

Thanks for the info!

I can’t seem to find the download page for the firmware on the VESC project site. I might just be blind…
Do you happen to have the link?

https://vesc-project.com/vesc_tool

create an account
add to cart
then u get the download link

or u can compile it urself from github

Thanks!

Good day I have the same issue. I would like to know where do I find the setup info to setup the Nazare to use the vesc? please and thank you

Sorry for reviving an old post, but i can’t seem to flash the tool’s fw. Even with the unity firmware selected, the only button I can click is the one to update the unity’s firmware, I can’t seem to copy the unity’s firmware into the VESC tool. Am I doing something wrong?
