Thoughts:

  • Finally, a sand PEV!
  • Using a tire is clever, cheap, and the shoulders give some turning capability
  • Free tracks on the side of every highway in the midwest!
  • For the stability, the three wheels could probably be more in line, since you’re not climbing much without rolling over backwards
  • Upgrading the motor with an old onewheel/p-hub would give a good bit of speed
  • Why do I want to build something that’s so objectively terrible?
  • Can we have a weirdly-compelling-shitty-diy thread for this category?

Leaning on a curved tyre like that should force some steering because of the diameter difference of the sidewall.
The rest is just, why
