Hot swap Back up battery

Not sure if this belongs here.
Figure I would share.
I finally got around to making my backup battery pack a 10s4p.
My main pack is a 10s5p.
I wanted to keep it simple and compact, so I made it to where I could hot swap it by running my Unity plug and main battery plug outside my enclosure.
The battery sits on the back with Velcro and a strap.
I carry the spare in my pack till I need it and just strap it to my board. Plug and play and away I go.
I built the battery so I can remove my D140 BMS by installing a xt30 for the charge port and B- and not worry about carrying it with me.
Here are some pics.

very clean execution!

I’ve been wanting to do something like this on my small campus board- with only a 12s2p and hummie hubz, I don’t get very much range, but also don’t want to go with anything bigger to keep it light. My 28" Arbor Rally is absolutely the perfect size.

Mellow made a hot swap battery system on their powertrain years ago that looked pretty interesting, but I’d need to DIY something waterproof to handle Florida afternoon showers.

The hard part would be to waterproof.
And even then you would need some ventilation to prevent condensation from building up.

I’d take an extra male xt connector, fill it full of epoxy/silicone, and use that as a cap for the unused battery pack. One bad splash of water and battery goes pop.

Good point I have some 3d printed caps that I used to use on my Fpv quad batteries.
Now if I can find them.

Plus i would find or print a very tight fitting box for the battery to slide in so the overhanging cells don’t bounce up and down.

It doesn’t bounce around that much after last weekend’s ride in SF it was well tested.
And I’m keeping it compact so it’s easier to carry.
I could say I’m a minimalist I don’t like to carry too much stuff.
