This was me too. I wish I’d done it sooner. I was unfamiliar with discourse. Creating account adds some features that are useful even if you’re lurking.
not seeing the same banners about things that already happened, that you already closed, every time your session expires.
keep track of what you’ve read and haven’t read and where you were on a thread.
keeps track of your read time giving you ever so important cred when you do decide to speak. ( I exaggerate the importance of read time cred. but it does have some value. )
