just a warning regarding dope grip hexagons: If you try to apply it to a clean, fresh deck just coated with glossy polyurethane, you may have trouble keeping it stuck to the deck. This is also true of other grip tapes like Black Diamond, Vicious, etc.
i think the trick would be a light sanding specifically where the grip will be applied.
i’m dealing with this issue right now. Typically i use glass frit but recently i’ve been going old school with cool grip patterns using both Black Diamond grip and dope hexagons with the padding. direct heat from sunlight makes it want to come up, and just sitting over night in a room can result in peeling, its weird. And kind of infuriating.

Their adhesive is kinda poo
I used some e6000 instead much better and still removable.

Too bad shredlights doesn’t sell it anymore. That’s where I used to source it.

I ordered some expensive, possibly less than ideally adhesive, dope tape from the UK. Allllmost done…
