The temp sensor needs to be taped to one of the lipos or between them, but not in a manner where it’s going to put pressure on them or poke a hole in them when the board gets banged around.
what is the purpose of it? its not a smart bms and im bypassing discharge
It will shut down charging if the cells are too hot.
Also if you decide to add lights later
in this manner, then your lights turning off could tell you to pull over and stop because you have a battery emergency underway. Without the placed sensor, it can’t do that.
If adding lights off the bms as in this diagram wouldn’t it be the full battery voltage going to those lights and have to add a resistor or string a bunch of stuff together?
The full battery voltage is there, yes. You’d need lights or a converter there that can run from it.
