I have an old Onsra Challenger series 1 and one of my bearings has blown in the motor is it possible to replace it or do I have to replace the motors?
Yes it’s not too hard especially if it uses belts or gears and not hubs or direct drive. You need a circlip tool to get off a retaining ring thing, and expect some effort to get pulleys off, and the motor can might get a bit stuck in some places which would be fine if. It wasn’t constantly also being pulled back down by the magnets.
So doable but will probably take some effort or creativity. Careful when you let the can back down it will snap hard if you let it and catch your finger BAD, and the only really fragile thing is the sensor pcb on the top
definitely be careful of the motor can snapping back down on the magnets and trying to chomp your fingers.
also after you get the main circlip off the can off and are looking to move the bearings out, inspect carefully some motors have yet another retaining ring holding the bearings in.
