Hi everyone, I’m working on a DIY board and I’m looking to get myself an 80KV 80100 motor. It seems like my primary two options are Alien Power Systems (APS) and Freerchobby. From reading this forum i see a lot of people are unhappy with Freerchobby so I would like to stay away from them ideally. However, when I try reaching out to APS I get no response and it seems to me their business has completely ceased. Does anyone know if this is the case?
Anyway this leads me to my main question: does anyone know a quality 80KV 80100 vendor? Possibly a mystical aliexpress seller who isn’t garbage?
Would it be possible to get away with Freerchobby if I replace the bearings and epoxy the windings? I plan on doing a shaft replacement anyway so hopefully the retaining ring popping out won’t happen.
If you have any personal experience with this motor, input woud be greatly appreciated, thanks!
My aps motors have been rocking it for almost 5 years now. Took off all over temp limits and lost the sensors a long time ago and have had zero issues since.
Thank you but unfortunately doesn’t seem like they make the 80100 motor anymore. I reached out with an inquiry just in case. Thanks for letting me know about the rebranding!
I’ve bought two from APS and the quality was not that good. On one of them, a loose wire of the strator was rubbing against the cage. I had to epoxy the whole strator, and also change all the bearings.
Maybe you can buy from Flipsky, dismantle the motors to inspect them and change all the bearings when they are dead.
This 80100 motor is quite easy to dismantle and fix.
I have 2x 130kv and they are my favourite motors. They are 6 years old now and I only had to fix them once.
