Has anyone experience with "QWIK Trucks" quick release baseplates?

Can I get a link to that thread?

Lol I realize that one does not exist I was just pointing out that this thread is about qwik trucks

the Linus screwdriver is hot garbage y’all delusional

It is the vibrations + the reliance on springs that really solidifies it as not safe/ worth the risk for esk8 in my book. Even if the springs are not being fully compressed for each vibration, the small compression caused will add up and result in the springs becoming useless faster than you’d expect.

Although, I will at least give them some kudos for having the spring in an uncompressed position 99% of the time. It is only compressed when switching out trucks which increases the lifespan of the spring.

I’m also just reluctant to use anything on my board that depends on springs where they’re not needed since there is the fact that they will fail on you. It is just a matter of how long it takes before that failure occurs. :person_shrugging: Plus who is actually swapping their trucks out that often for this to actually be worth the extra money plus risk?

I don’t own one and don’t plan to buy one, but they’re actually really good for their designed purpose: building PCs and other electric uses. If you do either as your job then they’re worth it. youtube keeps randomly auto playing reviews of it from different creators However, it isn’t worth it for automobile work apparently. Longer ratcheting screw drivers work best there

hmmm… there is much critic about springs here in the forum.
Not sure why most vehicles use springs for suspension if that is so dangerous?

(kudos also for having 2 seperate springs and locks…)

They don’t call the spring compression tools made for cars widow makers for no reason. They are dangerous. Although when those springs get too worn out the car can still run normally without a catastrophic failure and it is very clear when they reach that point. Making it easy to take them for a replacement before anyone can get hurt
