I’m waiting for the new deck from Haero they shipped one to me last week, so as soon as I get it I’ll start the fabrication of the new mold
Has anyone had trouble with the binding inserts on the 2021 model?
I had to chase the threads with a tap on pretty much every insert before they’d thread smoothly.
Unless I got the pitch wrong. Using M6x1.0 steel button heads.
mine threaded inserts are also a lil stiff
I thought I was doing something wrong, had one cross thread on me
Yes, @ducktaperules has images that show the issue
Edit - just found one
This is the issue - the binding inserts are not parallel. This means when you try and bolt bindings into it the bolts do not go in as you would expect.
That explains it, I got it a few threads in with my finger and half way down got stupid tight, took it back out along with some of the threads, cross threaded pretty badly
Mine are worse than that. I noticed the end pairs on the tail are not parallel, but there’s still some slop in the F5 L brackets holes that should allow for some of that misalignment.
I blunted the threads (and partially seized) on a few screws just trying to bottom them out in the center holes, without bindings involved.
Now that I’ve cleaned up the threads, even the tail pairs work.
Unfortunately it’s still very difficult and should be approached with caution. Haero are aware and it’s gonna get sorted
On both of my Bro96 decks at least two of the inserts are not perfect and had to be rethreaded. On the first board, I didn’t really think much of it because it was a discounted board for visual defects… The second board was a regular one with no defects but still had issues with the inserts.
Maybe rather than reinventing a new deck, when the 96 was perfect, they should look into putting the inserts in right every time?
I got to take the 21 for a good rip in the city today, got a 22ah battery below 50% so got a good feel of it,
I’m impressed at how much better I can turn.
I used the exact same setup as the 96 but went from stiff to medium and the ride was noticeably smoother, I’m going faster then I was before because of the comfort. Didn’t think the 96 could be better but imo it’s definitely improved. The turning and the way I eat up raised slabs and the fact I can push the throttle harder on the roads near me is exactly what I needed.
I’ve drilled the battery box on to the deck and the board performs like I never drilled in to it, I weigh 75kg so anyone 80+ the stiff deck would definitely be a better option.
I did get front foot fatigue due to the inserts not lining up but I’m in talks with Stu@atbshop and afaik the issues have been resolved
