n00b tip: don’t be an idiot like me and forget to put a spacer back on after changing wheels.
heard a grinding sound a mile out, look down and the wheel pulley was grinding on the mount, guess the 15mm wheel pulley is 14mm now.

Edit: OMFG I’m an idiot! I haven’t been back to The UCI campus for like 15 years. So after figuring out I forgot to put on the spacer, natural thing to do was to head back…I went all the way back around the circle going like 1 mph. I was literally like 500ft from my car when I stopped

HAHAH, it’s LAESK8 with an Escooter group event. I know right? Even before covid they make weekday 5pm rides and I’m like WTF, I get off at 6pm with that traffic I’d be lucky to make it to their Costa Mesa starting point by 7.
Way too many young people with odd schedule jobs I guess. Us old folks will just have to be envious

That is ridiculous, it’s a bike path, those bikers probably go faster than the chill riders
I ride that trail ALL THE TIME. Seen those patrol trucks a few times and we nod at each other with zero issues.
The problem with group rides is that there are always a$$clowns that blast past old people that gets offended. When I ride alone on walking trails, I slow down when I past people and dogs. I saw at least two people take picture/s of us as we rode by. No doubt one of them called the cops on us being a “public nuisance“ As a group, we really stand out. I think smaller 5 people groups would probably be easier.
As for legality. Realistically none of us are covered by ab604 With the speeds we were riding at.
Lastly I really don’t like the ebike crew. Two of them were riding pretty “aggressively” close to hikers

I’m gonna be in SD this weekend, around PB / Mission Bay, you guys recommend any routes around there?
Mission bay is usually where the evolve guys skate around. It can het pretty crowded but as long as you ride the streets you’re Fiiiiiiine

There’s an awesome route from la jolla cove all the way down the coast
Mission bay is really nice too, pretty new paved roads or you can ride the boardwalk
