Trying to find these screws for my trampa rims but longer to connect to my bn gd. Any suggestions for a good deal?
Boltdepot is good if you’re gonna buy a lot
Mcmastercarr has anything you might need. A bit pricier, but quick shipping and good customer support
I’ve given up on buying anything besides high quality graded hardware from reputable vendors like McMaster. Bad hardware is a liability, and mid-grade is a waste of time. Particularly for high-stress safety-critical applications like esk8, if you’re not buying graded hardware you’re asking for trouble.
We have brick and mortar bolt shops in loads of locations here, and generally much cheaper than buying online.. any time i need a few bolts of a particular size i generally just buy a whole box… partly because i like having all the bolts and partly because i feel like i’m wasting their time when i ask for 8 bolts and the grand total is less than a dollar ![]()
plus the pricing per bolt for a box of bolts is generally around 50% cheaper than buying per bolt
I personally use Amazon. Haven’t had any issues with the bolts I bought. ![]()
same…
Accu.co.uk is great. Here are their shipping rates for each country: https://www.accu.co.uk/order
I recently got some nuts from them. Grade 6 and 10 iirc. Couldn’t find higher grades in those sizes anywhere. I bought over 1k M5 and M6 locknuts for a cent a piece
(They supply cad models for pretty much everything)
What material/grade you recommend? I see quite a few options on the site. Which i agree on the high grade seeing how the wheels attach to the gd.
Shipping rates are pretty bad to EU unfortunately but it is indeed quite cheap hardware
Although expensive, I also love McMaster-Carr and their fast shipping/parts availability. I also love their models available in CAD so I can drop them direct into Fusion files (unrelated)
There’s actually an insert fastener feature in fusion, which is super convenient to use, I highly recommend trying that out. In case the fusion database wouldn’t have what you need there’s also an insert mcmaster component feature integrated, though I think the insert fastener feature is quicker to use.
Yep I’ve used both and they are both good, but the vain part of me likes inserting the McMaster components because the threads are fully modeled and look
prettier
when you render it
I only buy zinc-plated alloy steel hardware. Stainless is a waste of time. It’s way weaker, and even if the bolt doesn’t fail it’s likely to gall. Black-oxide alloy steel works fine and is cheaper, but it will rust if you whisper the word “moisture” anywhere near it.
Grade 12.9 is what I buy for metric hardware. For imperial hardware, grade 8 (they are not the same grading system, grade 8 is not 0.75x the strength of grade 12.9). McMaster makes this easier by just listing stuff as “low strength” “medium strength” and “high strength” with its relative grades.
