Hey all, I’ve finally finished my 12S build so just using my DV6 now. There’s an issue where only 1 side of the vesc can’t go above 70% duty cycle when riding, the other side works fine and can go above as normal. Another weird thing is that there’s this loud ringing noise when it gets stuck at 70%. If I change the motors around the other motor now makes the noise so it’s definitely an issue with one side of the vesc…

Both sides have the same motor config, has anyone else ever experienced anything like this?

@YUTW123 can I send you a couple videos showing this happening?

What is the set current? Is the motor with Hall sensor?

I have yet in my life seen somebody like this…

This is gonna be that guy who lay eyes on his newborn child, looks around, sees nothing, then say: ā€œahh you lil shit why didn’t you come with your own food, clothes and money to raise youā€ then shoves the baby into the garbage

MakerX guys literally shoved into the box, without being asked, all the connectors (that NOBODY includes), wires (ALSO NOBODY includes), and the only thing left not in there are the screws that STILL NOBODY includes are the screws, which they did so because mounting screws comes down to a CASE BY CASE PERSONAL PREFERENCE. I bet even if they did include the screws this guy still would shout ā€œthese ain’t the screws I needed, trash company, will never buy againā€ or some shit like that… smh

What, it doesn’t come with trucks, wheels, motors and a deck? WTF :joy:

And where is the battery and the enclosure? And why didn’t the company assemble it? wait, this isn’t a prebuilt board for 215$, my life is ruined now, my disappointment is immeasurable

Thanks for the quick reply! Both are foc with hall sensors, I tried to use 100A however the side with the same issue at 70% duty also can’t run above 80A. The other side which is fine above 70% duty can run at 100A fine.

Even when swapping the motors the same side or the vesc has the issue. The motors also came from your DV4 which didn’t have any issues.

Maybe make a new post with screenshots of your settings for both sides, sometimes values don’t get written properly, sometimes values return to default after a power cycle. I’ve never seen this problem before, on any VESC so a relatively thorough investigation is probably in order.

Got it today, it’s a very nice looking piece. Small, but definitely a chonker. Quite thick.

I look forward to putting this to use on my Hummie/Haggy build.

No it’s not logical at all. Too many ways to mount this product. Not one type of screw will work for all applications.

You’re super weird dude.

Mine is packed into my enclosure with foam so it doesn’t vibrate lol

I’ve had good luck with thermal glue for RAM and GPU heatsinks. It’s very very strong, I used it to adhere voltage converters inside an enclosure for power banks, and it turns out it does very well for ESCs onto aluminum plates.

I’d just like to stop in and say that I’ve used these in several of my builds and they work great. They’re perfect for the price point and feel great on the street. Matched with the 280 amp FS eswitch (or a loop key) they’re golden.

I’ll be selling them for $2800 each installed in a free board.
