The motor shaft is not long enough if I flip the motor pulley around. I wish it was that easy.
2 choices and both are easy. You buy some retaining compound and flip the pulleys. Loctite 680 will hold that pulley on there like a mechanical device. My gear drives are the same motors and have no screws just the compound or you buy some different pulleys. Hobby king sell a pulley kit extremely cheaply which have grub screws in the teeth no collar. As do Torqueboards
DIY electric skateboards
Iâm located in San Jose if you need any help at all
Would accept any help you could provide. I feel like I am so close to being done. But I just keep running into issues. I am in North San Jose. I can meet weekdays after 6 pm. Weekends pretty open schedule. You going to the race next week? I want to but donât think board will be done in time.
No no no, I mean putting another spacer between your truck and wheel pulley.
It wouldnât affect the motor plate at all. You just would need a long enough axle.
I used to rock those same trucks with crossbar mounts
Just pick up a couple pulleys that donât have the collar on them and do as @dareno said and either grind a flat spot on the motor shaft or use Loctite /retaining fluid.
If I add a spacer there, then the idlers will not line up anymore.
Your idler already doesnât line up with your motor pulley. Just giving you options.
Personally Iâd find a new motor pulley that had the grub screws on the pulley and not a weird collar. Should be $15 a piece maybe. Check your motor shaft size and shape first.
Big thanks to @Jujo for coming over today and helping me get my board running. Just need to get a washer tomorrow at Loweâs and I should be up and running. Motors and VESC turned on for the first time today.
