Only one of these works for OP’s setup. He is on thane I assume based on the size of his hangar
Definitely on thane. 97mm with 1/8" risers…so not a lot of extra space.
Very possible I’ve just been consistently bad at tuning mine, but because I’m a big guy (~230lbs) I’ve never been able to get a belt setup on a single motor that didn’t skip on braking. Even with an idler, very high tension, and a relatively aggressively low gearing
You need an insane amount of tension in the belt, wide belts help.
In my opinion, buy the gear drive, put it together correctly, never think about it again.
all you need is a belt drive with extra pulley for tensioning. that will wrap it around the pulleys more and you don’t have to tension very hard. never had a single slip and i do break hard.
I do have slips regularly on my TB belt drive though. it doesn’t have a tension pulley. My trampa open belt drive has one and never slips.
…
ah right, hum… strange.
