here: gb remote

Feels good in the hand. A bit shorter than my zmote so my pinky feels like it wants to slide off towards the bottom.

thanks for your input, also for those who want to get a feel for the gb remote lite v2 that’s coming out later next month, check the shell here: GB Remote lite V2 by Georgebenett - Thingiverse

I also made this spreadsheet so its a bit easier to understand the current product line:

Guys I have an idea, if you think the dual trigger is too small for your hands, try to print it at a scale (e.g. 105%) and tell us which value is your prefered, maybe we can have a poll or something here, and we can reach a commom value so i can use that and adjust the remote sizing accordingly!

3D printing the PCB design is such a goated move.

What PCB software do you use? I use KiCAD, but couldn’t figure out how to export the 3D model to a 3D printable format

EasyEDA pro can export to .step, and pretty sure it could also import a kicad project although I haven’t actually tried that.

KiCAD exports to .step

Kicad exports as .step file and the slicer software can take that

Huh. TIL. Skill issue.

One thing to be award of when exporting Kicad files to .step, is that most of the kicad library components are in a different 3d format (.wfb or something like that?) and so they dont export when you export a .step of the board. Only the components on the board which are also in a .step format will be present in the exported file. Kinda annoying.

yeah then i had to manually fix them in place, had issues with the button, usb port, haptic motor, and the hall sensors, then i had to export a dxf file of the components positions and aligning everything on fusion 360. its a pain but its worth it to make sure everything fits :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

fixing up clearances and optimizing for the manufacturing supplier, it’s crazy hard to have it made overseas with clearances, my printer has larger tolerances than manufacturer, it’s almost like a game, almost ready to order the first batch

Got mine.

Case feels really nice.

George @georgebenett is there a trick to turn it on?

Did it include a battery?

Pushing the button alone is not turning it on…

What is the trick?

you need to charge it with a non fast charger. Battery probably discharged in transit
