Come on man. You dont even have to click into the first search result, google will literally present the info to you right on the search page.
Riding backwards.
Like if you stake goofy, skating regular and vice versa
I ride regular so riding goofy would be skating switch for me
I have had recent miss adventure with 5.3.
I think I have 6 unities running…
Most are back on 23.64.
One I had accidentally flashed 5.3 and it is running fine.
I had a motor sensor fail on my Omakase that was running fine on 23.64.
So I said to myself let me slap the latest vesc on there and give HFI a try.
I always flash the firmwares and do stuff from my android phone because I hate breaking out my old laptop.
So I flash 5.3.
Seems fine.
Runs detection fine.
But I am not able to set up an input.
When it is supposed to go do it… It just goes back to the main screen.
I have reflashed it a few times.
No change.
I put 23.64 back and everything worked fine unsensored.
Then I flashed 5.3 again, and no go.
And again because I am dense.
And still no go.
What Bluetooth module you using? The OE one? Those aren’t that great for use with vesc tool.
The updated firmware/hardware for those works better.
Can you manually check your app settings to switch to ppm?
Yep. Stock unity from God knows when.
I was able to run motor detection.
And I can go into the app tab from the app.
Not sure what all to do from there.
If you go to app and flip to ppm uart then go to ppm you can manually just set your control type.
Then go to mapping and hit the menu button at the bottom to do ppm mapping to calibrate your center and all that.
Maybe do the mapping first before doing the current mode in case it sees your remote and decides to rocket cause of the default values
it was called ass before
Voluntary sex slave
Does VSS work with unities and regular motors…
Anyways not sure it matters.
I think I am content.
@bboybowzer
Nice work dude.
Thanks for saving me from an unsensored world.
I was about to slap 23.64 back on and move on with life.
I now just barely tinkered with HFI and I am pretty content on how it is running.
technically yes, but i personally wouldn’t unless ur sensor died
Yep a sensor died.
HFI seems ok.
I don’t do the full tuning thing.
Default settings cogged on a hill.
I bumped up voltages and it is moving me ok.
rip
but i have no experience with ass or vss, only hfi with default. it worked for me, so i didn’t bother much with the newere stuff. maybe others know
Doesn’t vss still need temp sensors?
Temp and ground is needed for best performance from what Frank says
Today you would rather go for silent HFI but for that method you need HW with phase filtering. Silent HFI doesn’t require any sensor connections. The angle can be detected with about 0.1-0.2deg precision at zero RPM.
What’s the best option, if your hardware does not have phase filtering? Would it be VSS? And if so does that mean we need temp and ground connected?
