Hey I’m still trying to get the app for iOS. I filled out the beta signup at least 3-4 times and still haven’t got the invite. I have both NRF52 BLE MODULE and a ROBOGOTCHI.

Getting caught up on release notes from our beloved @skate420 :

Another update is here! This one was focused on GPS speed and distance calculations for those who might be using a vehicle with multiple gear ratios, something with no wheels at all or just spend more time spinning tires than going forward :grinning:

Basically, there is a preference to prefer GPS speed and distance values when viewing a log file. You can switch this on or off at any time.

image

When enabled the app will graph your GPS speed instead of what is reported by the ESC and the travel distance will be computed from the GPS coordinates. You’ll see an indication of the GPS preference when the dot is filled in on the Distance Traveled icon.

There is also the addition of quick statistics. A long press on any log entry will display the board name and few extra details about your trip.

A few small issues were addressed but are quite boring. There is a new Robogotchi firmware with fixes for the logged GPS speed which unfortunately means existing logs will have speed reported in knots instead of kph :woman_facepalming: It’s ok.

FreeSK8 Mobile Release Notes

Robogotchi Firmware Release Notes

And…

A small update is in review containing fixes and usability updates. Everything worked on was reported by our beta testers, so again, thank you all for helping!

If you have a Spintend Ubox this update is expected to resolve issues connecting to it’s internal bluetooth adapter.

FreeSK8 Mobile

* Do not re-display connection dialog if dismissed
* Resetting BLE buffer if data alignment is lost
* Allow more time for initialization messages to be received

Shout out to Robogotchi and it’s audible alarms. I would have killed two batteries in the last month if it hadn’t been for the low voltage alarms. I’ve gotten complacent with my loop key habits.

Same story both times. Altered state of mind and noticing a strange beeping. Both times I was confused to what I was hearing. Today I realized quicker. For the price it’s the best investment I’ve made. At least $1000 ahead at this point.

Thanks Andrew and Renee

Each Xenigotchi comes with a pair of stickers with a 6-digit code on them, included in the antistatic bag they come in.

@SeanHacker any chance you have this? if not it’s cool, don’t have to use it.

Can’t tell if this is a unity problem, my configuration, or just bad luck but asking here. My unity gives an error when it’s supposed to auto power down, I don’t currently have an externally mounted power switch so I can’t manually turn the unity off, and the xenigotchi loses its mind buzzing constantly as soon as the system sends out an error message from timing out. Haven’t sealed the enclosure up because the only way to get rid of it is to pull the power

Can the alarm buzzer be disabled in the xenigotchi? Or remotely told to calm down? Or can the xenigotchi power off the unity over UART?

I experienced the same problem. It can be mitigated by setting Shutdown Mode to ALWAYS_ON
