Did you ever get CAN working? because i don’t think we ever did, which meant no traction control for us. We ran split PPM.

I never tried, I didn’t get the CAN cable. I am ordering some flying leads and a can cable this week for the eMTB build I’m putting them on. I’ll let you know if it works.

I can’t see the objection to price, its right in line with all the other high-end ESC’s currently on the market. I get the METR thing though, your working within a framework, that’s cool.

No, it’s not always the correct option, but neither is any other single version of the VESC. Specifically, I think the Arc200 is a natural fit for eMTB’s. Im building one to test the theory.

I originally had the same issue, but a firmware upgrade resolved that issue. What version of the firmware are you running on them?

Maybe I’m thinking too linearly and only what suites my purposes(street) haha. I agree for the eMTB it would be awesome with all the weatherproofing and high amp capabilities.
It’s still pretty darn expensive though when you put it next to a Unity (I know they aren’t exactly available).
On a side note the Vesc scarcity is a bit of a concern at the moment; Its great that we have the arc as an option.

It is expensive next to the unit, but not so much when you out it next to the Trampa VESC 6+ & VESC 7.

I’ve been using the flipsky FSESC 420 plus because if the FocBox and Unity stock issues, they are pretty good too for street builds, just have to pay attention to the amp limits.

Hopefully @shaman with his Focers are successful and @Chaka gets some more free time to get back into building vescs so that we get a few more options to choose between.

If anybody was building an ebike though, the Arc may be the best option by a long way.

I’m looking forward to @shaman’s Cheap FOCers a lot

The product link

is now ā€œ404ā€

Is the ARC200 no longer available ?
Did you bought the unit for a build ?

They use to sell it maybe the pulled the product.

Ive contacted them to ask.

They weren’t shy about telling me that they would NOT be replacing my damaged demo unit after we sent it back to them for inspection. We have one working one left and plan on using it for a three wheeled contraption at some point.

makes me wonder if they’re backing out of the market.

That doesn’t sound good. Im using the 2 I have for a Kaly 2.0 eMTB build, eventually for a e-surfboard most likely. If they are gone I may just go back to using FocBox’s on the Kaly. This makes me sad.

After looking through their store, it does look like they’re completely focused on film-making equipment and are discontinuing the arc200. Their drones have their Synapse flight controllers attached, but aren’t selling them separately…so that may be another sign they are backing out of the market.

Here’s a link to the store, if anybody wants to check it out : FreeFly Store

EDIT : After reading a few threads on their forums, it looks like the arc200 is discontinued because they designed it for use with their Tero chase car line. Since the Tero line is discontinued because of manufacturing issues and they have yet to find something they can work with, they backed out of the market.

they never had any intention of being in the esk8 market, they just knew we could test their limits.
