Is it possible to add the “new posts” count on the tab title like there was on the other forum ?

Nope. What you got was a rebuild to add in giphy.
You see, as an admin, i understand the importance of properly scheduling downtime and letting everyone know in advance that we might have an interruption for a minute.
but as a skater, i’m just going to do it and say fuck the consequences because i’m tired of that bullshit from my day job and i just want the fucking plugin now and i might even go get a soda while its crashed.
So that’s what happened.

i didn’t even see your post until i was typing. it was in response to the ddos comment.
I’m just so pumped about the amount of speed with which i can rebuild this whole container of joy.
I’ll give it a rest for a couple of days. I think that’s all the plugins i have the stomach for now anyway.

phew good to know. I assume the site is getting daily backups transferred to a hard disk which is then placed between a shorted 12s8p battery so no mofo except a crazy skater can get to it. 
backups and image uploads are now on Amazon S3 web services. But as a precaution, i am also downloading the backups hourly from S3 to my garage where i have an array of SSDs in a barbedwire cage surrounded by rabid male honeybadgers who haven’t boned in over a year and have been receiving regular doses of heavy psychotic drugs.

I remember doing that a lot when I used to build discourse for a robotics competition. getting approval of adding feature was not fun.
