Forget top speed, what is your average speed?

I usually start cursing at myself if I let my speed drop below 30mph on good pavement lol

the main use my boards see is commuting. So city riding around Jersey City/Hoboken/NYC and then some Westside highway bike path. Besides my short deck and small wheel zenit build, I probably average about a 22 to 25 mph moving average as well. My Lacroix’s are probably the top of that 25 and my TKP boards are probably in the 22/23 range. My Zenit small wheel board is probably around 20-22. My short pool deck I probably only go up to 16mph on and average around 10mph - I’m still pretty scared of that thing.

20-25 mph on pavement
15-20 mph during light off-roading(packed dirt, small gravel, grass)
2-7 mph on technical mountain bike single-track(large rocks, tree roots, loose dirt, steep climbs and descents)

This in on my MBS Comp 95 with Matrix II’s and 8 inch pneumatics. My top speed is 33 mph, and when riding I cruise at full speed most of the time. I guess slowing down for stop signs really drags down that average speed.

yeah, I’m not big on fast braking either. So if there’s a red light ahead, I’d let go of the throttle a bit in advance and roll to the stop

Riding alone:

  • 25-27 km/h (throttle is almost always flatted to ground)
  • Empty country road
  • Fun ride
  • PU, 83mm

Riding with bro:

  • 20 km/h (his board is significantly slower)
  • The same, empty road
  • Fun ride
  • PU, 83mm

That is awesome. It makes me happy to see these Century 40s averaging higher speeds than most boards on the market ever see. It’s downright depressing if I don’t hit 30 on every ride. :joy:

This is pretty typical for me just tearing around in my neighborhood doing a full discharge to blow off steam. Recorded this in Map My Ride trying to determine range from 100 to 0, but I made a point to just ride like I always do. Never mind that 39mph spike, my flipsky never said I went over 27.

I would like to know this too @janpom please

It records both. Avg speed is calculated from the rolling time.

What trail are you riding around for that distance and average speed?

The 44 mile ride was a mixture of city streets and bike paths

80mm pu kegles

12mph weaving around people City center pavements
18mph on good flat roads

I cap out of continues max speed at 22 but I get scared peek higher ocasonaly but drop back down parity quick. I had to compromise on acceleration to get over 18mph

I don’t understand how 12-36 on 80mm wheels dule 40amp motor settings feels week to me so how can people boast of 40mph and good acceleration?

Ordered some 6396 building a new more powerful board to see if it’s my board or just me.
