This is the first time you have looked at hydro dipping?

Which urethane should I use? Or should I go with some sort of epoxy?

I believe spar urethane is the common choice when using poly. Personally I love the glossiness you can achieve with epoxy. Clear as glass

I’ll test with both and will try epoxy before I actually do the boards. Thanks for your input

I am going to use a haya for my first time and I recently picked up some thin aluminum that I can bend into the shape of the deck. I can also test the actual material I will be using as well which is nice. Do you think this will work?

I have used the oil based poly but I prefer the spar urethane I buy the gloss because I like the way it looks

Can you show a photo of the board you are talking about? I cant decide if I want gloss or something less flashy for my Choo Choo

e: nvm im blind. I think its your HAYA

Im down, I need more inspiration for my upcoming sender sent deck

omg this thread is hilarious, I’m just trying to learn how to frit my board and I’m cracking the fuck up at 1am

exciting indeed! I’m doing my research rn and then hopefully ordering soon… don’t have much time to get this done

Fine frit this time, gotta put the layer coat of epoxy on tonight.

I prefer the fine frit as it doesn’t show up as much when taking pictures of the deck and you can get more coverage.

Yeah it is nice, I hope I get a chance to ride it before I have to give it back to see how it feels.

@Sender how many coats of epoxy do you put over frit? I feel like one is enough…

One coat. Actually on fine frit I don’t. It encapsulates the frit too much and you lose friction.

I was worried about that so I went really thin on both layers. Not dry yet but still feels nice and sharp :+1: cheers dude :call_me_hand:

Which fine is that? Looks a bit chunkier than the fine I have.
