Focbox fault (blinking red)

Alright guys, my cousin has dual focbox ESCs and one of his motors stopped working. We opened it up and one of the ESCs is blinking red and the fault code shows up as DRV?

Anything we can do to fix? Not sure if more information is needed, but let me know if so.

Tagging you guys since you commented on my last VESC post :joy:

Step 1: cry
Step 2: replace FocBox or send it to be repaired
Step 3: cry more

You can reset it and ride again but the faults will be more common and dangerous with each following fault

ooof yeah DRV errors are usualy fatal, however not always, double check all your connectors, especially main battery leads, sometimes DRV errors are thrown when vesc looses power from battery, this could also be a bad solder joint

got any pics of the board before that part went pop?

I am still planning on fixing my blown DRV focbox but it is not a super easy thing to learn to do.

AND double check your FW!!! If you’re running Ack sometimes it’s a setting thing

Checked everything, no luck :sob:

He’ll probably buy some new ones.

There are no factory-new FOCBOXes but you can find them on the used market — sometimes even new ones.

I object to your claim
