FOC-KING Vesc6 Hardware running Vesc ALTERNATIVE Firmware

Vesc6 core software is commonly known to be complex and difficult regarding improvements and further development, mainly due to its use of ChibiOS and its many dependencies to 3rd-party libraries. Also it has the very restrictive license GPLv3, by critics called the “Virus License”.

An alternative is MESC firmware. Yes, M. E. S. C. with an M

Here it’s the fully open sourced FOC-KING Vesc6 capable HW running MESC.

Awesome.

Mesc is a very nice firmware (developed by Mxlemming).
But i think the reasons why vesc is so popular are the 3rd party libraries and the GPL license

I think the GUI and mobile app are important too. I don’t know shit about computers and running stuff off terminal seems like a nightmare.

Hi Jens

Can you share your MESC bin file?

I checked the code and it looks really clean! I might try it too

You can get a link to the FOC_KING setup file, which you can copy-paste into the mesc firmware.

You can also clone my branch of the mesc code. Warning, I have moved a lot of stuff around - tried to organize it pseudo-object-oriented, made project files for VSCode, python-tool for visualizing realtime date. But it’s work in progress.

Hej

Link to MESC FreeDRIVE.h doesnt work.
Can you repost ?

shell/terminal is actually way simpler, but it does take a little bit too learn. it’s trivial now with the chatbots. if i have a terminal up, people think im practicing some occult shit.

The link should work now
