It’s a case, exactly that, a case, like the cover for your cell phone, two parts that hold the remote, and the screws make it very secure.
I published my finger groove case up on Printables:
STEP files are included if anyone wants to mess around with it for themselves.
These are the screws I’m using from McMaster-Carr… mine are M3x12.
Sorry to keep hijacking this thread. I’ll leave it alone now, but I updated my Printables page for this remote and added a version that utilizes heat-set M3 brass inserts so you can use standard M3x12 socket head screws.
I printed a version using translucent PETG body with the top few layers on each half in PETG-CF. Came out great.
I always try to design things to use a chamfer in that direction with fillets on all the other directions… so Z only ever goes up per layer at 45 degrees avoiding supports and X/Y travels smooth as there are no sharp corners
I usually try to also but Fusion was throwing a fit when I was trying to make it a chamfer instead of a fillet so I just gave up and left it as is. You win this time fusion.
You’re definitely not stealing, very nice work. I think it would deserve a separate topic for the future so it doesn’t get lost in this topic. ![]()
edit : Looking at it this way, I’m toying with the idea of gutting the VX4, adding a bigger battery and an LED. ![]()
True, I’ll make a new post and link this one in it so people can see different options. I’d like to see what other people come up with also.
