Flipsky VX1 connection to VESC

Hello,
I’m having trouble connecting my spare VX1 remote to my stormcore 60D since my Hoyt Puck is out of commission. I can power on the remote, and I can power on the stormcore but when I try to use the remote the motors don’t spin.
I’m trying to connect the remote using the VESC Tool app on ios. Some pictures attached. Not sure which app config I need to use but I have it set to PPM and UART (or at least I hope I do). I’m also not sure if I should update to the newest VESC firmware or stay where I am etc.

Sorry I’m a complete VESC Tool noob and all the options just make things more confusing to me.

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Obvious question but you’ve switched the receivers haven’t you?

If you’re on the most recent update of the vesctool app you might be encountering an error that’s plaguing it. Switch to PC and a USB connection, run detection/remote setup and it should work. Fix for the app is in the works, I had to redo my settings via cable recently for it.

I was about to ask the same

Yes physically I’ve removed the hoyt puck receiver and put in the flipsky receiver :face_with_peeking_eye:.

I don’t have a PC so using VESC Tool for ios is my only option. :skull_and_crossbones:

According to the vesc community you need a PC if you’re building vehicles. They don’t believe in mobile.

I couldn’t get it to work on an old laptop running Windows 7 either

Stormcore and xenith I’ve used the app and it went perfectly until the current version. Maker-x I find it fucky and opt for usb connection only atm.

Check rx and tx, also the control type

Use the input wizard from the home screen.

Obviously, you may need to pair the vx1, but that should be visible by having the battery SoC lights showing on the remote.

You’ll want to re-map the PPM too (Maybe this is done on the wizard anyway, not sure. I don’t use it). But, you’ll see if the vesc sees the ppm input here. If it doesn’t, likely ppm isn’t enabled or it’s not wired right.
