Flipsky VESC 4.10 with Firmware v6.05

Hi everyone,

I’m using a Flipsky VESC hardware version 4.10, and I’ve recently upgraded the firmware to the latest version (6.05). Since this is an older hardware revision, I’m wondering what specific adjustments or parameter changes I should make to ensure optimal performance and prevent potential issues.

Are there any recommended settings, limits, or configurations I should be aware of when running the latest firmware on this older 4.10 hardware?

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

I think VESC Tool will do the heavy lifting for you. Just run the setup wizards and you should be good to go

thanks, i have try on foc detection and motor running well

What voltage? If this is 4.10 hardware (I have never seen a Flipsky-branded VESC 4.10) or 4.12 hardware, then be careful at 12S, use BLDC and not FOC commutation. At 10S, either one. I would keep battery current at 20A or even 15A or you will get thermal throttling frequently under normal esk8 style usage conditions.

I’m using a 10S battery. I’m not sure about the exact hardware version, since VESC Tool shows it as 4.10. I got this hardware from someone else and the label is missing. I’m running it in FOC mode, and I’m only getting a maximum motor current of about 14 amps.

Why do you recommend using BLDC instead of FOC on this hardware?

If you’re running 10S, I don’t recommend that. You can do either one.
