With all the recent issues with vendor communication, refunds, PayPal disputes, etc. I would like to start a buyer’s initiative to help draw some lines.
I believe all buyers of battery packs, completes, or otherwise customized products should request an expected date of delivery from time of purchase.
The second money changes hands, an expectation is set. Unfortunately, we all have our own expectations and beliefs on what is an acceptable lead time. An estimated date of completion/delivery will help to set a community precedent for how late is (un)acceptable as a vendor here.
Vendors with dedicated websites are a different situation (although I always advocate for requesting an estimated time of delivery). I am speaking only of people offering their services here for custom products.
I will continue preaching it until its the norm and suggest you do the same.
For me, from the date you receive money, one should send the product/object within 2 days.
For example, if money gets sent a Tuesday night, the seller should send Thursday at the latest, maybe Friday morning if you are very busy.
This rule goes for all sellers who are not vendors.
A Vendor is someone who owns a business or e-commerce (or any website that you can pay money through)
They should have there own Private Policy explaining when they ship, within what delay, and how long it should take before arrival.
So far one Vendor has been incompetent ( @ hyperion1) of my knowledge, so the issue is minimal. I would be more worried about individuals selling even though, again, only one or two problems has occurred over the last 5 years (none on this forum)
This is a very important step to undertake any time of purchase.
