First DIY build need some help

Recently sold my Boosted board and I’m looking into making a DIY board, but I need some help specifically with everything. I’m looking to create a board similar to the evolve brand (minus the throwing riders off) a AT street carver.

Here are my current parts.

Torque Board Dual Motor Kit with 160mm AT tires.
1x Dual Motor Mechanical Kit
1x 160mm All Terrain Tire Kit w/ 72T Pulley
2x 6374 190KV Motors

Torque Board 40’’ drop deck.
Battery Enclosure: 12S4P V3F Enclosure
12S4P Battery Pack: 12S4P FLEX Battery Pack (18650 SAMSUNG 30Q)

Flipsky Dual FSESC6.6
Flipsky VX2 Pro remote.

I think that’s all of it unless I’m missing something.

Please let me know what everyone thinks and let me know if there’s anything that needs improvements.

Thanks.

Your gonna need a lot more than all that…

Buying a 6.6 is a hit or miss for a lot of people so keep that in mind. That’s the heart of your board. Your can either buy a heart that’s a piece of junk or a healthy one. What would you put in your body?

Mounting hardware
Im not sure who’s building your battery but keep that in mind
Enclosure mounting hardware
Risers
Grip tape Or glass frit

Do you have a recommendation for another ESC and possibly a remote (I’ve also been thinking hoyt)?
From what I’m tracking the deck bundle comes with the mounting hardware for it.

Deck might already come with it, I’m it super familiar with that deck. I would recommend looking for used Focboxes or a unity Vesc. Company is out of business so you won’t have a “warranty” but that’s DIY. Yes I’d recommend the Hoyt puck. That is what I’m using as well. No issues and build quality is top notch

Also you can look into the NeoBox but I know shipping times are behind

Also currently I guess you can get unity on AliExpress for like 219$ or something. But buy at your own risk

Buying a product from a bankrupt company that may or may not arrive non functional is not a good idea. As a new builder, you don’t know what you’d be getting into if you got a Unity.

Either wait for Torqueboard’s new vesc based ESCs to come out, or for the Stormcore 60D. Or Neobox, once the 1st production batch is ready.

I bought some Focboxes

Yeah, that’s also a good choice, but if you want to run them with CAN in a dual drive build, gotta make sure they’re v1.7. (I was replying to OP, not you btw :upside_down_face: )

Why do they need to be 1.7…

I’m new here too, but after working with Timo from Haggy boards I have to suggest checking his all terrain setup out in comparison to the AT setup you linked here. He was amazing throughout purchase to shipping, guy is awesome and has some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. https://haggyboard.com/

1.7 just has an upgraded chip

Whoa that 2 in 1 looks awesome.

because if they’re not 1.7 then connecting them together risks burning their CAN chips and then you definitely can’t connect them together

Here’s a update on my parts list.

I’m switching from the torque board drive kit to this because I really want that 2 in 1.

Torque Board 40’’ drop deck.
Battery Enclosure: 12S4P V3F Enclosure
12S4P Battery Pack: 12S4P FLEX Battery Pack (18650 SAMSUNG 30Q)

As for the ESC I’m not really sure what to get, I might still go for the Flipsky because it’s readily available.
The remote will probably be a Hoyt puck.

My following questions are.
Is there anything else I’m missing?
With everything I’ve listed so far could I assemble and build?

My other alternatives are to buy a build it kit board which I hear great things about but I don’t really want a short deck (BKB y u no make long board kit).

Or buy a premade like a Ownboard Bamboo or Carbon which I hear has terrible QC issues right now, run it until it dies then try to rebuild something upon it’s corpse.

Thanks.
